Default How to get 28" tires tucked?

I just put a set of 275/60 15 et street radials on my camaro. They are mounted on 15x8.5" convo pro's, and they look like crap. How are you guys getting the rear end down with 28" tall tires? I know some people are running them on a 15x10 rim. What backspace will I need to get them tucked in so I can lower the rear? Will I need mini tubbs? Seems a little extreme for 2 extra inches of tire. I have already rolled the fender lips.

here is mine ....you will need to trim the rear and front quarters and bang the inner wheel wells in , also you will need 7.5 backspacing on a 10 inch wide wheel to look right the 8's just dont look right to me

Yours still looks like the tires stick out past the fender. Do you have a rear pic? I didn't have any problems getting them to clear, I just want to be able to lower the rear. It has a rake now that I don't like the look of and it's not good for weight transfer.

lower the rear.

pull the isolater, only 1/2 -5/8 settled on my car, not the 3/4 I see people say
cut one coil that was 3/4-1inch

these are M&H not as wide as your MT but 28x9.5x16

I'm afraid if I do that, the tire will rub. I don't have much clearance now. Looks like about 1 3/4 from the top of the tire to the fender. If the tire fit inside the fender I could. Hard to tell from your pic, but mine looks about like that. I want the car to sit level. If narrowing the rear and mini tubbing is the only way to do it, I guess I'll save my money for that. I wonder how much a 15x10 rim would help. Can I get enough backspace to get the tire inside the fender without mini tubbing it?

What backspace do you have? Did you have to do any other work to get it to fit? Have any pics?

My 8s have 5.5" bs so with 8.5s you would need 6" bs thats why you can't get yours to tuck they stick out 1" to far if you have 5" bs! Hope that helps and makes sense. lol

8 inch wheels always look odd to me on these cars. 15x10s with 7.5 backspace tuck good. That's what I use.

15x10 7.5 backspace 325/50/15 radial.

Thanks for heads up guys. Looks like I may have to give Bogarts a try. Doesn't look like there are many options for a lightweight 15x10 with 7.5" bs.

There are lots of 15x10 7.5 backspace wheels. It just depends what your goals are, and what you're looking to do. Weld's new R/T wheels clear stock brakes, come in the correct backspace to tuck under our cars, and are a great street strip wheel. Steve at SJM does amazing work and can build you a set of Bogart wheels to do the same as listed above. They are lighter than the R/T wheels, but not as streetable. Billet Specialties again, much heavier than a Bogart, but also have a LS1 specific rear wheel to fit and clear stock OEM LS1 calipars. It's all in what choice is right for you.
