The 555R is a competition compound tire, very soft rubber. I've run several sets of the 555R2's (same compound and tread design, just stiffer carcass for handling), and getting 10k miles is a real stretch.

I don't know how bad the highway miles will kill the tires but mine have been on for a little over 8,000 and they still hook

you must do burnouts at every stop light? and turn really ******* fast...ive had mine on now for 26k miles now and theres still a little bit left on em, i drove the car dd to work and back for the last two summers 92miles both ways 5 days a week drivin like a *** and always on the gas from the lights and a hand full of smokey burnoust and they have lasted fine....AND just drove from chicago to key largo fl, and back

i love the tires for dd'ing but they dont hook like mickeys...but for what hes looking for you just cant beat them...

well thats what were all on tech for...but over all youll like the tires they hook pretty good...way way better then street tires...like a rapped ape when new and drive great like stock and perfect for under 420rwhp...kinda perfect for our bullet proof 10 bolts lol
i mean next tire i get will be the mickeys but then ill expect the 8-10k max mileage. also you may hear the sidewall is weaker on any dr causing a sideways bounce...well these barly do it with 35psi. they feel like sex at 18 psi tho..

I've had pretty good luck with the Nitto 555r's too. My first set was a couple 275/40/17's. They lasted about 12-13k, and still had some bite left in them, even though the centers were worn down pretty good. My last set were 315's. I had about 3k, or so on them, and they didn't have much wear on them at all. But, I sold those wheels, and now I have some 335/30/18 Nittos on the way. I doubt I'll ever run another tire on the street.
