WHAT was I THINKING?!?!
I swear sometimes....
Anyway, I... for some reason... let my girlfriend drive my 2002 TA with the Aluminum TT2 rims. She went to the store to pick up a few things and was gone for about 2 hours... She returned and parked the car in the driveway,
I was on my way out and I look and see these two MASSIVE gouges in both the FRONT and REAR rims. I asked her what the hell happened... Turned out she was trying to parallel park and hit the curb with both the rims, chewing a good portion of them to ****.
Now, my question is... What can I do to make them less noticeable? Is there anything I can do to perhaps smooth them out or SOMETHING?! Please help

Yea she felt really bad because she knows what that car means to me... I couldnt stay mad at her with those sad puppy eyes... I dont want to buy two new rims... If I have to I guess I have to... But I just want to make them less noticeable... Hrmmm...

Companies like "Wheel fix-it" or any other wheel repair company can sand down the edges of the wheel to make it less noticeable. Just check for them in your area and see if they can help you out.

So youre telling me its as simple as file, sand, wet sand, and polish... Anyone got a more indepth process, what grit sand paper? What file type?
And fro all the rest of you... Lesson learned... Ugh, I dont know what I was thinking... Guess its something I have to live with... experience gained... fml...

Pretty much... She has been doing a good job of making it up to me and offered to pay for some of the work on top of everything else... So things are looking up... But I am still looking for a detailed "how to" fix this thing.

this is how i have it. have the tires un mounted then i use a dremile with the little sanding role on it us a some thing like 120 to take the worst of it out. Then switch to 300 grit to knock off some of the more significant rash. After that you will need to switch to hand sanding go and wet sanding go from 600 up to 2500 and then you will have to switch to some rouge then to some polish. this will only work on polished rims and it takes me almost 4 hours a rim to fix it. it takes time and when in dout start with a higher grit the worst that will happen is it will take longer and make sure you taper out the repair so it is not as sudden. also some wheel shops can have it welded up and they will look good as new.
