Default which m/t to get?

I'm wanting to put the E.T. streets out back on some 16 x 8's. Which tire should i go with? Also i have read that you need inner tubes, and i have also read that you didnt need to run them. So do you or not?

think you need to know the mph your crossing the traps at and the rpm you shift at to decide that. you can use a rpm and mph calculator too see what size tire will put you closest to your shift point at the finish line to get the max performance out of your tire/gear combo.

you take the different tire sizes and plug them into this calculator

http://www.f-body.org/gears

you'll need to select the m6 from the drop down menu and then fill out your tire size and shift point. you'll also need to fill in your rear end gearing. it will spit out the mph you will be traveling and at what rpm for all the gears. i believe you plug in tire sizes to see which one gives you the matching speed and rpm. so in your case for example you need to pick the tire size that will put you at 6800rpm and 122 mph in 4th gear when you cross the finish. if nothing puts you close you may need to consider changing your rear end gears.

take everything above with a grain of salt because that's how i think it is done. not 100% positive. if anyone wants to correct me please do.
