Default 335/30/18 hoosier dot drag raidals on 18x10.5

ok i know the tire is too wide for a 10.5 already but just want to know if anyone here has ever tried it.

oe wheels has a good deal on c6z06 rims 17x9.5 and 18x10.5 that i want to pick up and run a wide *** tire for racing and looks

is this just way too unsafe and does anyone have a picture of the tires because i cant find one on the internet of this tire 335/30/18 hoosier dot drag radial with the white letters

i know house of wheels has the c6z06 wheels in a 18x12 that will work but then ill spend an extra $ on them

i will need to do alot of massaging to make these tires fit

don't be an idiot and put 335s on a 10.5" wheel. if you absolutely use the 335, get the 12" wheel. if you just want a fat rear tire, put a nitto 315 on the 10.5" wheel. they look plenty wide!

example:

I don't know about the Hoosiers, but my Nitto 335/30/18 DR's fit my 18x10.5" wide C5 deep dishes just fine. There's a slight buldge, but nothing unsafe about it.

try it and let us know my rears are 11" wide and the specs for those specific tirse say minimum 12" wheel (but we all know ppl do manage toget away withthings) so i held out on getting those this time around...weird thing though the 17" version of those tires actually has a wider section width than the 18's but they do fit...just with 17" wheels

^^^I'll have some more pics up sometime this week, after I get a few more things done. I had to do a little BFH'ing, but not too much. Just the lower front part of the inner fender. I didn't even have to roll the fenders. They're just an 18x10.5", with a 54mm offset. I am running a 5/16" spacer in the back though.

Hey Tbird31,
I assume your photo above is of a 315 Nitto since we are talking about this subject and you gave the example.... Is that the 315/35/17 NT555? That is the only 315 that I know Nitto makes in the straight 555 Extreme radial, and that's what the tire you have on there looks like. I run the Nitto 555 on my T/A and my Monte SS so I know the tire well...

I know they do the 555 Drag Radials in the 315 in the 18in size, but I don't think the tire in your photo is the drag radial. I'm almost positive your photo is the straight NT555 Extreme so must be the 315/35/17 size.. Correct?????

Just wondering as I want wider tires than what I have on my T/A right now, and I love my Nitto's, but in the 18in size the widest they have are the one's I have now, the 285/35/18. (Unless I want to do their 295/45/18, which I don't want..) Just making sure there isn't a 315/18 Nitto out there (othrer than the DR) and I just don't know about it......

Yep, those are the NT555's. Just the radial. NOT the drag radial. The 315-35-17 DR's are comparable to a 275 M/T drag radial. Where as the 315 radials are much much wider.

Here are my 315-35-17 nitto DR's with a 275-50-15 M/T et street radial

^ that's crazy. How is that possible? It's a measurement, how is there a variation in that between brands?

Just like shoes ya know, Nikes might run small while Addidas might run big, something along those lines. Same listed size just different actual sizes.

Thumbs up

I know this is an old thread but just wanted to show people how well 335/30/18 Hoosier drag radials fit on a 18x10.5. I will say I'm sure you are better off mounting these on a 12" rim as you will get more contact patch but these on a 6spd C6Z on 10.5's have seen 1.38 60fts.

Plenty of people run 335 Hoosiers on 18x10.5 wheels.
