Question Question on polished wheels...

I currently have 17" Chrome ZR-1's. I love them, but the finish is starting to bubble & chip in the corners of the spokes.

I want to get the same wheels in Polished aluminum. What are some bad things that can happen to polished wheels? If they fade, can I keep polishing them forever? Im looking for a more durable finish I can have for years.

Will these last a long time?

You can repolish raw aluminum wheels forever. Thats the beauty of polished wheels. No pitting, chipping or peeling.

See the kit details here: Blingmaster Aluminator Metal Polish

If you also pick up a bottle of the Flitz PreClean your polishing job will be much easier and you will net better end results.

See it here: Flitz Aluminum PreClean

Here is what you can expect to achieve with Blingmaster: Before on the left, after on the right.

This is as close to chrome as aluminum gets.

My chrome C5 wheels are doing the same thing from sitting for 27 months. I am going to have them powder coated soon because they really look bad.

Polished wheels look great - for about a week. Even if you don't drive the car in crap weather, the wheels will tarnish and dull. You can get them cleaned up again but plan on doing this every month or so. I've got polished Boyd Coddington's on my 'Hawk and I love the look but they are a lot of work.
