Keep your wheels from being stolen!
We recently had another rash of wheel thefts here and there is a tip I wanted to pass along that may help keep yours from being stolen.
Whenever and wherever you park, keep your front wheels turned all the way. With the steering column locked, you can't get the front wheels off and that may be enough to deter them to look for another "set". If you have staggered sizes like I do, even if they come back for 2 more after you replace them, it won't do them much good and if you don't, you have time to prepare.
Here's a suggestion...
Throwing out a wheel turned pic to keep it interesting

You need to add the boots to the cars now. They are taking everything... Cats are worth quite a bit due to the metals...and they are easier to pawn off at the scrap yards. It's nice when you work hard for something that others feel the need to steal valuables for drugs or whatever they do with the income.
About 20 years ago, a friends 3K stereo equipment was stolen...and ripped the whole car apart to get to it.

Don't forget... 2 to the body, 1 to the head, just in case they are wearing body armor... J/K! (but not really)
Actually, I remember someone being told "you can't shoot somene who is stealing your property" in a pistol liscencing class, and the guy replied "Can't shoot em anywhere?" It was pretty funny.
Truth is, the above is "Larceny" and you can't use deadly physical force, however if there is a struggle for the property, that is a "Robbery" and well, that is where the lawyers get involved.
So, my advice... when your at the mall, stopping at a friends apartment complex, etc... keep your wheels turned.

Thanks for the heads up. But, honestly I don't care if someone steals me wheels. Just call the ol' insurance company up, and tell them to take care of it. Easy enough. It's not worth shooting someone, or doing what you guys are talking about.

Wheel locks are a B**CH if you get a flat and forgot the key at home, or in the garage, or at the tire shop where you last got them balanced, etc, etc.
P.S. I think most of the guys on here are full of it talking about how they would run up and blast someone for taking a set of wheels. A bunch of legal drama, fear of reprocussion from the dead thief's gang-banging family, possible jail time...all over a set of wheels that are (on avg based on posts in this thread) less than $1500/set.

Shoot 1 warning shot sometimes does it. I had a few perps trying to steal my wife 97 grand prix a few years back. Fired 1 warning shot and they took off. Some crooks are stupid and either run or halt in their tracks with 1 warning shot. Beretta and sig sauer here for protection.

As far as protecting your wheels...
1. Locking Lugs (If you can, get the ones that have an incut patterns. Most cheaper lockers can be removed by hammering an undersized socket onto.
2. Turn your wheels, lock the column, use a club, be selective about where you park.
3. Motion sensor / mercury level switch alarm systems.
4. Locked or preferably an alarmed garage.
If there is one thing I have learned is that good thieves will get what they want no matter what you do to protect it. Sometimes you just have to rely on good insurance.
