Default tires for stock rims on front

i have the stock 1998 ws6 rims. getting ready to order some goodyear f1 gsd3 tires for them. on the back i want to do the 285/40zr17 which i hear fit fine. on the front though i want to do the 255/40zr17.

they are .6" diameter less than the stock goodyear f1gs tires so i wanted to see if anyone had any pics or input for this tire....... id really rather get a 265/40 for the front but they dont make it on this tire and the 275/40 is so close to the 285/40 that i dont think it would be worth it. i want the staggered look and i know i wont be able to rotate them so it has to be worth it.

What you want is a 255/45/17 up front

the 285 will look stupid on the rear fyi. i had 285 Kumhos on my 17x9s, they bulged noticeably. the GS D3 is even wider. personally i would stick to 275s all the way around. if you dont want to rotate put a 555R on the rear
