Default Tire size question

Ok guys, this question has been answered before but I can't find it so: I have stock wheels on my 00 Firebird. Since I can't afford another set of wheels, whats the widest tire I can run on stocks without rubbing issues? 'Preciate the help.

You can run 295/50/16, but idk if it will rub. I have 295/50/16 tires in rear. Mine rubbed at first, then I installed Air shocks.
Fat tires gives it a mean look. I am planning on jumping to 15s soon. =)

He is right !!! you need at least 9.5" to use a 295 tire, mines are 10.5" and I have some 305/30/19 so 255/50/16 sounds about right

Yeah, but you wouldn't want that tire for any corner carving, or drag racing. It's just not a performance tire.

Put some 1" hubspacers on the rear and a set of 255/50/16, and it'll look good!

Thank you!
Its something diferent you know.
Not a lot of people know about the 295 tire on a 16x8 rim. Now they know. =)
The front wheel could use a 225 or 235. That's a 215 on at the moment which gives it a offset look.
Thank you again...
=)

I have the same rim so I want that look that you have. What brand tire are you running and what was the cost of the tire if you don't mind. Did you use a spacer and if so what size? Your car looks great, let me know.

Um. I have 2 spacers yesone in each side, which Ill gladly take a pic when I have the chance so you can know what size spacer.
BF Goodrich online sells em, you can post up your zip code and theyll tell you who sells em.
