Default 265/40r18 et street radials worth it?

heres my scenario, Ive got nitto nt555 275/40r18 on the rear right now (not the drag radials) Ive got a flat and need to get some new rears asap for some events coming up. I have a chance to scoop up a set of mickey thomson E/t street radials for cheap. they are 265/40r18. I dont figure the width to be much of a difference, wheel is 18x9.5" what are your guys experiance with these tires, They will be a street/strip tire. 80 miles highway each way to the track, and im not worried about the tread life. How much better can I expect these to hook than the nt555's? should I jump on them for a good price? thanks.

I could hook the same on the street with a 295/35/18 BFG drag radial and a 265/40/18 M/T

Thanks, good to know, I figure any drag radial will hook better then my nt555's I have now, and Ive always heard good things about the mickey's. Should have them mounted up by next weekend.
