What is a good set of sticky tires?
I need a good set of sticky tires for stock 17'' rims on my 04 GTO. I want something i can drive in the rain and snow but also something i can go to the track with. I plan to go to the track once or twice a month. I daily drive the car so they have to be ok on the street.
Any suggestions would be helpfull.

Nittos 555r last longer, but MTs ET Streets hook up better!! both are good tires, depends f u wanna sacrifice a little less tracton for longer lasting tires. I noticed u may drive in rain/snow. i think Nitto 555r is better all around. ET Streets=crap in rain (not sure about snow since i live in hawaii. LOL), but good at the track.

As for the above responses. He said snow. Any DR or summer performance tire is going to be dangerous in snow. Rain is another story. I've heard the Nitto DR's aren't bad. The Goodyear GS-D3 is probably the best rain/dry tire out there though. Just don't let it see snow.
When it gets cold out though nothing is going to grab. Just physics.

As others said, rain, snow, and dragstrip don't mix. For DD, you need an ultra-high-performance all season tire - like the BFG G-force SS/AS. Go to tirerack.com and search in your size - there are a variety. You don't want a dedicated summer tire.
For the strip, you'll need an extra pair of wheels with drag radials, like the MT DR's suggested above.
