i have never had once problem in the rain or cold with my 315 nittos. granted i dont drive like an idiot when weather is that way so i would advise you not to. if it makes you feel any better ive got a HKE 347 with a 76mm turbo etc.

i previously had 275/40/17 nitto 555r's and I daily drove them for an entire season apr-nov in michigan. They didn't really impress me much for dry traction over 555 street tires but I have an a4 and only bolt ons. In the rain they were great for a DR at first but after about 5-6k miles when the tread stared to get low they were a little scary over 60 in the rain. I got rid of them because I got worried of them cracking in the cold and during storage as some had issues with.

Best drag radial for the money for daily driving without a doubt is a nitto. They last a very long time, pre-heat easy to stick, good all weather, hooks well on concrete with 12psi, decent price. I've had three 275/40/17 sets. I drove the first set until the thread got torn to shreads murdering them for one year, second set last pretty well, this new set i bought 1 month ago and they aren't to bad either. If you want to hook and break **** buy mickey thompson ET streets.... lol Hooks like glue everytime with drag launch springs!! The life quality isn't bad either if you drive normal not doing burnouts when you see honda's. Yeah in the rain, it's a bad story if your going faster than 45mph make sure you have working seat belts and plenty of room for you to steer from hydroplaning.

i have run 4 sets of nittos from my mustang to my camaro....great daily driver tire.
of course they dont get the traction a MT does but they are 1000 times better than a sumitumo or other common 315 used. i have 315s right now and 275s on my stock rims. great tire

I would not run them in the winter unless you live in an area that is warm year round.
Because they don't grip for s*** in cold temps and more importantly the tires can crack because the rubber is not designed for lower temps. Crack as in splits here and there, not usually life threatening but can basically ruin or make the tire look like it's not safe or ruined.

I just got some 275/50s put on and so far they are nice, but I hate the look because they look puny compared to my old 295/50 toyo street tires...
Don't hook at all when it's cold (but still at least a hair better than bald toyos), but once the temp is above 50 and they get a little warm they start to bite pretty good
went on a "cruise" today (read as in: very fast through corners following some awd subbies) and they held on to the road great even though that's not really what they are made for
they pick up sand and rocks pretty good though
