Default Good sticky tire with all season tread?

Im looking for a good tire to put on the rears, but I dont want to go out for a drag radial. I was looking at the Nitto 450 extremes. I dont really want to spend anymore than 100 or so per tire. I want a tire that I can daily drive, yet will still hook somewhat at the track. Anything out there that people are raving about?

What size you looking at? And the Nitto 555r are relatively cheap and will hook decently on a stock car.

Yeah for a hundred bucks you can get sumitomo's but not shipped and installed too. Mostly you either want cheap or grip you can't get both.

Um the 450 extremes are $94 per tire with free shipping. The 555s are around 150 per tire. I realize im not going to get great hooking tire, but I was just wondering what is out there that has some good performance for the money.

I was mistaken. The $94 per tire did not include free shipping. However www.discounttiredirect.com has them for $106 and that is for sure free shipping. I saw on tirerack some sumitomo htr+ for $77 and goodyear gt-hr for the same price. Not sure how well the sumitomos and goodyears perform. Ive read generally good things about the Nittos.

This is for a 245-50-16 base T/A wheel.

You answered the second part of your question with the first part of your post. You're not going to get anything but garbage for 100 bucks a tire.

I have 315 BFG Radial TAs on my Cobra that gets driven all summer. I like them, they're cheap, they hook good, and they arnt horrible in the rain.

lol no I realize im not going to get a tire that will hook like crazy for 100 bucks, but I want a tire that has the most grip for that price range. It looks like the Nittos are decent, but I wonder how the Sumitomos and Goodyears are. Im not looking for a DR or high end tires, but I would like to find something reasonable that I can work with. Its not a track car, but I do like to run from time to time. Im leaning towards the Nittos, but I read a lot about the Sumitomos.
