Default 315 Toyo Proxes TQ

My search for a 315 tire is slowly getting narrowed. I originally wanted an NT05 in a 315, but they dont make it for an 18" wheel. I don't think I want to go with the NT05Rs just yet, because they don't look friendly to the DD.

I was looking at the Proxes TQ tires, and they look a little friendlier to the DD and is offered in a 315/35/18 for a good price compared to most 18" 315s. I am getting the deep dish C5's when they are offered in the 18x9.5" & 18x10.5" combo. I have seen a 315 Proxes TQ on a 10.5 and the tire looks fine with very minimal bulge, if any at all. I'm highly interested in these tires and was wondering how well they would work? I live on an AFB where I drive no more than 2-3 miles a day back and forth to work, so mileage isn't a huge concern, but I still need a good tire to get me on the streets, wet and dry.

I've thought of several choices, a 295 NT05, a 335 Nitto 555R, 315 Proxes TQ, 315 R888, or RA1. The RA1 looks better for wet handling, but probably won't stick as good at the TQ. I've read a lot of good things about them, and just want some more input on these choices.

I bought my 315's back in November and have not had the chance to test them at the strip yet but at a corrected 650+ rwhp 3800# TA they hook alot better than my nitto 555r dr's ever did. As far as a dd, 48 mile round trips for my work are not a chore i/e pulling you side to side freeway driving stuff.

Wet or dry I couldn't be more pleased with these. Granted they are 17's I think you would be helping your wallet as well.

This is according to Toyo's website:
The new Proxes TQ is a street legal drag radial that keeps the power to the ground on high horsepower muscle cars and street machines.

I wonder how they would do at the track and on the street. Any idea how many miles they are good for?

I mainly just have some quick input pertaining to the Nitto 555R....if you are planning on running the 335 on a 10.5.....you might get a good amount of tire bulge. I know that everyone on here says that the 315 Nittos run narrow but the 335s do not. I use the 335/30r18 on my truck on a 12 inch wheel and they look about perfect on that. I've also measured them before and they are 335 mm wide. So just a heads up.

That being said...they are decent tires. Get decent mileage and pretty good traction when you heat em up. They are supposed to be good in the rain too which I cannot attest to because I don't drive my truck in the rain. But that is what I hear.

I'm thinking about giving the RA1's a shot after my nittos die. Still wouldn't mind giving the BFG DR's a shot too. I mainly stick with the nittos for now while i am in college because they are a good mixture of traction and cost. It works for me.

Good luck with your decision..should look cool wit hthe deep dish C5's.
