Default tire size?

First time posting, looks like tons of info here.

I have a set of bogarts for my 2010 ss. 17x10rears and 17x5fronts I'm looking for input on what the best tires for the strip would be. Slicks or drag radials? Is tread width or bigger side wall better for a slightly modded car. I don't want to break anything. Any suggestions would be great.

Mods-CAI, Ported heads, cam, Kook LT headers, MBRP exhaust, Spec3+ clutch

i believe speed inc was runnin a 10' camaro at 41 last year with a supercharger i think if i remember correctly he had m/t's on it. and a bigger sidewall will help if u have a bigger numerically gear but wider is always better imo.

I just didn't want more width than really needed, doesn't it just create more rolling resistence?

it will create resistance but if u need a big foot print to get traction its worth it. u could get away with a 315 id go with m/t dr's i had nittos for my car in a 16 and hated them they are better than a street tire but not by much.
