I have experience with the Nitto 555R's -- pretty good multi-purpose drag radial (decent traction, longer life span, etc.). If you're planning to Auto X I presume you're looking at the 555R II's?

Auto x is only going to take place one day out of the month the rest is street driving so I mean just the nitto nt-555 not the drag radial.

I am ears to any brand folks.

to do what you want, your best bet is the RE760 sports. you will LOVE them on the track and they will be badass on the street as well. The s-drives are a great tire as well, although you will get more out of the Bridgestones. i would go with them hands down over the others, not much will compare except a strictly race tire.

Used to have the bfg g-force sport tires. They wore like iron, and I felt like they would never completely run out of tread lol, but the traction is lacking if you have any kind of power.

I don't honestly have personal experience with any of those tires, but I can say that I'm not sure I've ever heard a good word spoken about the Nitto 555 street tires, so don't go with those.

Anyone ever run the Kumho XS?

I am looking for new tires and hard to find a larger tire for my stock SS 10 spoke... I never drive it when cold and want more then just a drag radial?
I like corners.... lol

I want to run 285/40/17) om my 17x9.5 rims, I like my rims alot... do not try to tell me to size up, please. I am going to lower my SS 1-1.5 with springs this summer, so it will look great to me! I want sticky tires ONLY! lol...

My neighbor tire friend told me to try some Contintials... He said serious!
In put please, just NO rim suggestions!

Thanks
Robert

like i said before, try the RE760 sports. i think they might only be available in a 275-40-17 but the size difference is minimal and you should like them for corner carving. I'm not a big fan of Kumhos, never really impressed me much besides some of their cheaper prices, but overall, they don't seem to perform much better than your average "sport summer tire".
