Default Powerball for cleaning chrome?

I have the stock ss chrome rims on my camaro. They have some terrible break dust grime and gunk on them that I can't get rid of for the life of me. Do you think I could use the mother's powerball with some strong wheel cleaner to try to bust through it? Like some mequiars wheel cleaner?

I've been wanting to try it myself but just cant come to terms paying $25+ for a little foam ball. I just bought a tapered cotton drill attachment. I want to try it this weekend.

the original power ball is to big and bulky to get in to certail areas and the small one(i have both)is still hard to control but its better on wheels.
i think the cone is better.

I use the Mothers power cone with turtle wax chrome polish (turtle wax, I know. But ive great results with it). Finish comes out great, better than any hand polishing ive ever seen. What chrome polish do you guys use?

go to wally world and buy neverdull about $5 by eagle one. It will take alittle elbow grease but will take off the heavy deposits then polish the rim with a mothers ball. The neverdull worked better than the mothers ball to get all the brake dust out of tough places.

+1 for the 0000 steel wool. I had the same grime that wouldnt come off and hit the chrome with the steel wool and some wheel cleaner. Came out way nicer than I expected!
