NT05 All Around?
Im looking into buying tires for my 99 trans am. ive got 9.5 inch C5 ZO6 Rims, so the biggest i can go is a 275/40/17. Should i put Nitto NT05's all around or go for Nitto Nt05's in the back and Nitto NT555R's in the front? any advice? any difference?

you shouldn't mix tread pattern. it will/can cause road noise and drivability issues especially with wide tires like that.
I have Nitto NT-05's on all 4 corners in a 275/35/18. They are super grippy and grab the corners, drive smooth and aren't too scary in the rain.

they dont make a 285/40/17 for the NT-05.
but if they did, i would go for it. Nitto always seems to run narrower than most tires. I would consider a Nitto 285 to be equal in width to a 275 in other brands (BFG, GoodYear etc).

yeah i really wish i had a 10.5 rim so i could run the 315's.
its to bad they dont make a 285 or a 295 for 17 inch rims. otherwise i would get 295. but i think i might go with nto5's all around. thanks a lot!

FWIW the 275 40 17 555 is definately a little wider than the same 275 555r version, I have the radials on the front of my car and the dr's in the rear, same size same wheel.
