Default Do older tires wear faster?

I couldn't afford new tires a couple of months ago so I put my old wheels and tires on which still had some good meat left. They're about 6 years old and they are wearing really fast. They had about a quarter tread left when I put them on and now they're close to bald. It's only been a little over two months and 2,000 miles. Is this normal? Does anyone have any good 275/40/17 tires for sale?

6 years old they could be dry rotted. Any noticible cracking or stiffness in the tire. Have they been exposed to the elements while not on the car? Of course used tires are not gonna last as long as new ones

They were in my garage the whole time so no elements other than time. I hope that's the case. They're on the front and I don't think my alignment's off. My steering wheel doesn't shake but i think something's off. Thanks for the input though.

Old rubber is a death wish Seriously, tires get hard, don't grip well in the wet or dry and are a potential for a blowout. Not worth the risk IMO. I always roll with as new of rubber as possible.
