Default Help choosing street tires for stock rims.

I have 16x8 stock wheels and the Falken ZIEX 512's that came with the car are almost bald and driving in the rain is scary and even in dry weather it is an annoyance, I am having a hard time choosing tires that are best for dry traction and OK for wet weather, I need opinions on BFG G-Force Sport, Fire Stone Wide Oval's or any other UHP Summer tires please!

(Current tire size is 245/50/16) Could I run a 255 instead? how would that look

Also, these tires are going on a '99 Camaro Z28 w/ a borla and lid. I don't want to break the bank too
Any help is appreciated!

I've seen the Nitto 555's for $150 each

How would you rate Nitto 555's in the rain? Just had a scare with the current tires on the wet road so I'm deathly afraid of how Drag radials will do when wet.

I had the wideovals and now have the g-force sports. They are very comparable tires, and i have a hard time choosing which one would be better. If i had to choose...The BFG is the best all around tire. The wideovals have better dry traction i think though. I am running 255 on my stock 16's now btw, look and drive great!

Btw, I'm looking to get new rims and tires soon, and my BFG's have alot of tread left if you're interested. In fact the fronts look brand new, and the rears are at about 3/4 i think
