Default What Ultra Extreme tire are you running on the street!?

I tossed between 4 so I thought I'd see what you guys are running. I really like the Vredestin, but the Potenza are still the beast on the streets.

1) Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta
2) Bridgestone Potenza RE-11
3) BF Goodrich g-Force T/A KD
4) Yoko ADVAN Neova AD08
5) ????

Before I give you my opinion Id like to ask what size are your looking to purchase? And what are you looking for in a tire? As far as how long you expect them to last, your driving style, your budget, etc etc.

I work with tires for a living if you couldn't tell lol.

I once ran Michelin Pilot Sport Cups.......basically road racing slicks.

They were crazy sticky and besides the annoying pebbles destroying the paint the compound would not have lasted very long at all.

What sizes are you planning to run? That may help narrow down some of those choices.

General Exclaims and Standard NT-555 are not in the same class of tire as what he listed. Toyo R1R, Nitto NT-05/NT-555RII, Kunmho Ecsta XS/MX, and the like are some of the others in that class.

That's what I'm running but I'm 275/40/17 all the way around though and you can't argue with the masses of these tires when they all say "Extremes" on them, lol.

Yeah these will be a 17 or 18" wheel/tire setup for DD'ing and spirited driving. Like I said, I like the Vredestein, but never road on a set so I thought I'd ask, also leaning towards the Bridgestone tires, but will looking into the others

Definately check out Nitto. I love my 555r drag radials, but they make excellent street tires as well.

im running NEXXEN N3000. 275/35/18 on all fours. I got them in a package with my rims. I think they are on the cheaper side tire, but i will say they look great. The tread on these are very aggressive looking. It drives well.

I plan on adding Nitto 555R 285/35/18 for the rears.

Love my Falken Azenis RT615s but will likely move to Star Specs on my next tire change.

Probably 265/35/18s if I keep my current wheels. I currently have 275/35/18s but that is pretty big for a 9" wheel. Just curious, why do you ask?

The Vredesteins are really popular on the Corvette forums. I just bought a set for my C5Z. They should be here soon.

i wanted to try them for a set, but the star specs come in small handful of sizes.

I actually like my 245/50/16 Firehawk Wideovals. Treadwear has been really good and for a bolt on F body its not a bad street tire to take to the track.
