Default 17x11 wheel questions

i have a pair of 17x11 wheels with a 50mm offset. how will these fit my 98 ss? also what size tire is recommended for these wheels on this car??

99.9% of guys with 17x11s run a 315/35

The 50MM offset will work. You'll have to have the rearend supported when taking the wheels off and on. If it's on a lift and the rear end is hanging then you'll run into or get hung up on the bump stops. You'll also want to make sure you're rearend is square with a panhard bar if you're lowered.

I've had it done with same wheel, offset, and 315/35/17 BFG KD's back when they made them. Looked great. But yes, you will have to jack up car by the pumpkin or else wheels will hang at the bump stops. Unless you cut them off.

^ There's a thread where someone was asking about cutting the bump stops off and they were telling the OP no cause it made the car ride like **** or something like that. IDK I've never had a reason to cut off my bump stops to know.

I didn't have too. I took a hammer to a few spots on the fender well and got a double adjustable panhard rod and I've been golden.
