Default Recommend Me A Street Tire

Hi guys, mods to my car are in sig it also has 17x11 wheels in the rear and also not listed there is either an ss3200 or ss3600 stall, most likely a 3600. I really dont want to have to go with a smaller stall because of not being to hook on a decent street tire. My concern is that I cant run DR's on the car because its a daily driver, see's a lot of highway miles so I need a tire that can last more than a few thousand miles and since its florida it rains a lot and I've been in cars with dr's in the rain and its pretty scary. The size tire I'm looking to go with is a 315/35/17 but I'm open to suggestions. I know I will not be able to hook from a stop wil the ss3600 on streets but I'd atleast like to hammer it from a 30 roll. I was looking at nitto nt05's, nitto 555's, or toyo proxes pq...I'm open to suggestion so let me know what ya think.

Goodyear GSD3's are my favorite so far in both looks and traction for a street tire. My LEAST favorite are the damn Pirelli P-zero Rosso's that cost an arm and a leg and only lasted 6 months when my car was just bolt-ons.

The thing that turned me off or dr's is 1 they dont have a lot of mileage on them and I do a lot of driving so I dont have time or money to replace them every 8000 miles lol. The 22nd thing is that my buddy had a set of MT's on his car adn even though they were pretty bald you couldnt take the car over 40mph in the rain it would just hydroplane with no throttle at all.

From what I heard the nitto 555 needs to heat up before they can do any work so I'm trying to steer clear from them... How would you all compare the nt05 to the GSD3, or the toyo proxes or whatevr other is your favorite?

You wont hook with ANY street tire with a 3600 stall... I have been through ton's of tires on my car and even with a 2400 stall street tires didn't have a chance, now on my 3800 its a friggin joke

GSD3's are good tires but also very very expensive, they cost twice as much as my favorite drag radial, Toyo TQ's. And I agree, Pirelli's suck in all forms except motorcycle tires

Best drag radial for decent traction (worked okay for me), decent price, and good life.

Well I replaced my Sumitomo street tires at 7k miles, my first set of Toyo DR's at 7k miles, and my second set of Toyo DR's at 10k miles.

As far as heating up, the 555 is a normal street tire, by design only competition tires need to be heated to hook. So that would be the 555R, any drag radial needs to be heated to "hook". Now the definition of "hook" is different for some. My Toyo's and other drag radials hooked just as good as street tires but once heated hooked far better than a street tire under heavy throttle.

If you want a drag radial to last a while get the Nitto 555R's dont expect front tire yanking traction though, but do expect far better traction than a regular street tire under hard launches.
