Considering mini tubs. Is it worth it?

Default Considering mini tubs. Is it worth it?

How much wider can I go with mini tubs and what else will I need to change? Any one have pics? I tried the search but it was useless.

I would say for the looks only it would if youre into that. For traction, not really.

I considered it myself for my build. Could have put some SERIOUS steam rollers back there, but would be for mostly for conversation purposes. Couldn't justify the expense in putting them in, additional wheel and rubber cost, etc for a 'marginal' traction improvement.

Decided to pack the biggest wheel and tire combo I can without hammering the **** out of the wheel well and will just let'm smoke thru the gears

Probably not worth it from a traction standpoint since there are plenty of cars running some serious track times with tires that aren't wide or tall enough to require tubs. With that said, I'm STILL tubbing my car anyway so I can shoehorn my 345/30/19 tires on there.
Hopefully I'll have my car done in the next week or two.

I guess for now I'm just going to work on getting everything in and working right then decide.

Only if your puttin a **** ton of power down I put a 10.5 under my car and that was plenty alot of work for not much result

going from 245's to 315's made a 15 mph difference for me on the street. The tire compound will say a lot too.
