Default MT 295/45-17 DR fittment ???

How do these fit on an unmodified F-body? Anyone have more information or pics? I searched and looked around on here before posting.

I have a 97 Camaro SS with the original zr1 style wheels. I've seen them listed as 17" x 9" and as 17" x 9.5" so I'm not sure which is correct.

I currently run 285/40-17's on the rear and have plenty of clearance. It's not lowered in the rear. I've thought about going to 11" rears & 315's. but I don't want to BFH the inner fenders or roll the lips since it's kinda a rare car.

I'm interested in how they would work using either my stock 9/9.5 wheels or using 11" rears. From reading the specs, it appears that the section width is about the same as my 285/40's, but the tread width is wider by about 3/4". Wouldn't this matter very little? I'm thinking the section width would be the most important for clearance.

Also, I don't know what width wheel the specs were measured on...so that's a crap shoot.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. This is my first post in the Wheel/Tire section.

Thanks for the reply. Was that without rolling the quarter panel lips or taking a BFH to the inner fender wells?

That's good to hear. Is there any chance you could post some pics? Even fuzzy cell phone pics would be welcome.

I spent about a half hour searching for them, but could only find pics of his car with 315's on the back. He mentioned posting pics later with the 295's, but I couldn't find them. LOL I did see some great pics of his car with the 3" SS hood. Thanks for the reply...any little bit of info is good. Those things cost alot to just buy and then not fit because I don't want to modify my 97 SS. I posted in one of his threads so maybe he will send me some pics.
