16/17 ZR1 combo?

16/17 ZR1 combo?
I have a feeling there isn't anyone out there that has done this, but I'll ask anyway. Anyone running factory 16" ZR1s up front and rear 17" ZR1s? I already have 16" ZR1s all around, but been thinking of getting rear 17" from OE Wheels, if you can even order just the rear deep dish 17s from them. I noticed tire price wise is about $50 difference from 245/50/16 to 315/35/17 for the Nitto 555R.
Just throwing this idea around. Don't know.

That's what I was talking about......would be nice to have a set of those. I would use them to run a smaller tire on the front and a pair of 255/50-16 drag radials on the rear occasionally. Would keep my car looking stock, but should be a lighter set-up on the front and more sidewall on the rear without going to a tall tire on the 17" wheels to get the same amount of sidewall.
They don't look ugly to me.....but then I'm the type that thinks anything over an 18" wheel looks out of place on our cars. I don't like the tiny sidewall look, ride, or (straightline) traction issues they cause.

I don't think the 16s are ugly, but I'm kinda getting 315 fever. I was thinking it would be affordable if I just did 17" out back. I see I didn't get any responses where anyone has done it with this style wheel though.
Kinda not surprised though, when I picked these up I had a few responses like yours Carlos, disbelief that they existed in 16" form.

The only thing I know of them coming on is the 97 SS Convertible 30th Anniv cars and the wheels were white. I'm not sure if the non anniv convertible SS's came with them or not??

I had heard 96-97 SS convertibles and it was an optional wheel with the F1 package?
My original plan or still current one is to throw 255/50 on these wheels once these yokohamas are shot, but I'm tossing around the rear deep dish ZR1 idea, but keeping the front 16s. Not sure, I guess no one has done 16/17 ZR1s.

Give it a shot dude, doesn't seem like anyone has done it or reported on it if they did.
I checked the "Special Edition Vehicles" section for research on the 16" ZR1's; some of those guys are walking history books and its always neat to scroll through the threads. So according to those guys, Special Edition Verts were equipped with 16" because:

"All convertibles were modified by SLP with 16" wheels ONLY because SLP was concerned that the ride would be too harsh with the shorter sidewall of the 17" wheels because of the lack of rigidity due to the loss of the support of a solid top and the support that it would provide therefore only the hardtop and T-top cars came out with 17" wheels."
So..lol..I learned something new today, and I am done hijacking your thread lol..sorry Corey.
