Fitting 10.5" wheels on the rear. Spacer?
Just mocked up my 18x10.5" oewheels c6 wheels and its looking like i am going to need a spacer and possibly completely cut the bumpstop off. Anyone else have this issue fitting an 18"x10.5 wheel? What wheel spacers should i get? I already have heavy duty longer wheel studs on order. Thanks guys

Been running 18x10.5 for years on 2 different f-bodies, only had to bfh a little and have never slashed my tires. I'm dropped about 1.25" in the rear and I'm not running a spacer with 295's.

I just did the same thing and actually had the spacers installed but if you jack the car up by the rear axel the tires will go on no problem. No adjustment needed. I had the same concern but once I did this it works just fine. Dont jack the car up by the frame when you install the tires. After you have the wheel on and drop the car, when you do lift the car by the frame the tire will rub the bump stop mount but will not touch the rim. I double checked this just to be sure. I know no one tells you this flat out but I just did the same thing not a week ago. It will be fine because once the car sits down on the springs the bump stop actually rides inside the rim and does not touch anything... you would have to jack the car up in order for the tire to touch the bump stop mount. I did not have to hammer the bump stop either just the bottom edges of the inner fender.

The rodes in Hawaii are absolutely horrid and I have never had this issue. Running a tire with a sidewall height of 35, I think the bumpstop hits before the tire would hit the fender. I know that I hit the bumstops (you can see slight wear marks on my rearend from it) and, like I said, I've never cut into my tires.

If you don't already have an adj panhard and you're ride is lowered, I'd highly suggest it. I too do not let the rear hang and I've had no problems for years, I just centered the rear.

I didn't have any problems installing my 18x10.5's this way. OE wheels 56mm offset. No spacers either. Close call, but they cleared the bumpstops. I did have to do some BFH though. Hmm..
