Default Rear Drag wheel and tire size???

I have spent hours searching threads on here and have not come up with much so I guess I will ask??? I want to put 15" drag wheels and radials on the back of my '00 SS looking for the biggest I can run but still have clearance. Would like to run a 15x10 wheel and tires is where idk 275/60...275/50...or 295/50 any suggestions?

I just got my 15x10 racestar's last week, and I went with the 275/50's and I'm kinda wishing I went 275/60.

I presume you have the 7.5 backspacing? Got any pics?

15x10's on a stock length rear need 7.5" backspacing. A 275/60/15 is equilvalent to a 28x10.5. The 275/50/15 is about 26 inches tall. You will have to do some hammering on the inner fender, but its not a big deal. Also you will have to do some caliper grinding depending on which rims you go with. Racestars don't require any grinding.

275/60/15's sure seem small compared to the 315/35/17's???

With a good drag radial or slick it'll hook just fine. You don't need to have the widest tire possible for traction just one that's sticky

Yes I understand that, just going for the bigger tire look. Close friend of mine has a '69 nova stock style suspension that runs 5.40's on a MT 275/60 DR. 3200lbs and we can leave on the back bumper.

Have 325/50/15's on mine. removed bump stop and did some hammering and fits great. Just bought Racestars 15x10 b/s 7.5 and 15x4.5 in front.

I have the 325/50's on my S10 with a 15x10 and a 6.5 bs. I put one one the rear of my SS and it stuck out probably close to 2 inches, but had a ton of room inside. They also were only about an 1/8 of an inch away from the rear bumper cover.

That looks really good, a little to tall for me though. I may just got 17x11 with 315's and 17x8 1/2 with 245's if I can find the right wheel combo.
