315's, Wheel Spacers, Flush front wheels, PICS, etc
I did a little homework, with pics, for all of us considering wider wheels, running spacers, or spacing out the front tires for a more flush look on our Trans Ams.
I just widened my speedlines 2", I dont have tires yet but I do have 1.25" spacers/adapters that I will be running in order to make them fit.
Just going by looks I think I will need to roll the rear inner fenders for peace of mind at least, it may not be necessary, but I am going to anyways.
I figured since the only spacers I have right now are the 1.25" I would do it on one of the front tires just to get an idea for how far it will push the wheel out. I can tell you it is WAY too far out for me but I took pics just to give everyone some ideas.
The pics you will see have the 1.25 spacers on the passenger side of the car only, for comparisons sake.
The wheels are the stock 17X9's for now until I get tires for the widened one. The tires in the pics are Hankooks and are all 275/40/17's. The car is at stock ride height.

I don't think what the OP is trying to accomplish is the same as the import guys. He even admitted the fronts stick out to much. I have 17x9 1/2 ZR1s w/ 56mm offset on my Camaro and would love to get some 36mm offset wheels to fill the wheel well a little more. I'm using spacers myself to do this very thing. The wider track may have a slight performance advantage also...? I think it looks worse when you have wheels sunk into the wheelwells. Just my opinion... If the OP stretched a tire to narrow for the wheel, then I say we lynch him! And he probably just used the word 'flush' for lack of a better word.

Like I said in the begining the pics where only to give everyone a point of reference. And yes the word "flush" was the best one I could come up with. Is there a more correct term?

I think 3/4 in the front (18mm) and 1" (24mm) maybe less will work in the back. Id roll the outter part of the 1/4 panel and massage the inner portion just to be on the safe side. Then again all 4th gens are not equal. You have a adjustable panhard bar? If not that will help center the rear.

I am at stock height and did not roll the fenders. I have take my car up to Yosemite and have driven in a spirited manner on the twisty roads. I never have rubbed the fenders. I have also driven with some weight in the rear and have not rubbed.
I believe the axle has about 4" of movement up to the bump stops. Even if the axle was riding the bump stops, the tires would not touch the edge of the fender at the rear.

can you PM me some more pictures of your car...and where did you get the 1" spacers? to me it looks like the tires stick out just a tad to much but that may be the angle of the shot.
maybe a 3/4 spacer?
where can i find what im looking for?
