Default SS ten spoke wheel. Need refininshing opinions.

I recently bought a set of SS 10 spoke wheels. They are chrome but some idiot sprayed acid on them which is causing the chrome to lift. Give me your opinions on what I should do and why. I like the style of the wheel so im just looking for refininshing options like re chrome, polishing, powder coating etc. LMK what you think.

Widen to 10" or 10.5" in the rear. And powdercoat black. Or you could rechrome them but I would definetly widen the rears.

How much of a pain is it to polish these wheels? How do I get the rest of the chrome off without scratching the aluminum?

Polished wheels are a pain to keep up with. They do not stay pretty forever. Chrome on the other hand just wipes off with a cloth and looks new.

chrome, polished looks the best but is a pain in the *** to clean, powdercoat is the cheapest option though, last time i checked to have a wheel re chromed it was alot of cash

There's a guy on here with a sunset orange car with professionally polished SS 10 spokes that look amazing. I also saw a guy that polished just the face of a set of silver wheels. It was like anniversary SS 10 spokes but instead of black they are silver. I also love the charcoal colored wheels too. I have pics of one if you want it.

I bought my wheels off a member here and they were already painted Gunmetal. I think they stand out pretty nice on my silver '00 Z28. I do have to touch them up a little, buthey still look really good. Oh, and I also NEED to wash my car.

My friend had polished aluminum on his white z28. I thought that looked the best. Nice clean look.

Looks good now.

There's a lot of options with powder coating.

A Black "high gloss" powder coat finish, w/white pinstripe added!

IMOP 10 spokes only look right the way they came from the factory. Chrome, polished or painted. I just reshot a pair to use at the track. The spokes are machined under the paint and the pockets are raw cast. I like the look of the machined face with either silver or black pockets. Here is what they looked liked striped and then based only ( not cleared yet) Under the paint or chrome the spokes are machined

You may not notice in this picture:

But I painted the insides in black. Brake dust blends in and it gives the wheel the appearance as though the face is floating.

Left wheel has black insides, right wheel does not:

All blacked out:

I would love chrome ten spokes but no way am I going to put that much money into these.

I would like to do some widened ten spokes. 315 on the rear and 275 on the front is my dream setup.
