Post 18" wheel inner fender rub

Hey guys, just wondering if anyone has ever had the same issue as me or could give some input. I have 98 z28 with 18" wheels 270/40 tires and when I turn the wheel all the way in one direction, the tires rub up against the inner fenderwell. This has been causing some damage to my ground effects package by removing the rivots that secure it to the front drivers side inner fenderwell (Most likely happened over a long period of time from hitting bumos causing the wheels to move foward and back). Anyone have any solutions other than me getting another set of smaller wheels?
Thanks

get rid of the ground effects kit, step 1. i ran 275/40/18 on all 4 corners for a year. had some slight front wheel well rub. went to the more natural size of 275/35/18 and even lowered the car, not a problem since. that size tire is 1" taller than the recommended size. (275/40/17 or 275/35/18)
