Those are either painted or from the angle and lighting they just look bronzeish but they're just the painted silver color.
The only magnesium wheels for the C5 were on the Z06's and the 50th anniversary I posted earlier. I've never seen a magnesium Y2K/thin spoke wheel.

the anniversary cars where just painted that color but arent magnesium as you can see the magnesium wheels spokes are slightly different. the magnesium wheels come on cars that are not 03's.

from another site to show the wheels that people mistake as magnesium on the anniversary cars arent the same.
They were supposedly made by Speedline, the same company that provides wheels for Ferrari.
They were expensive, maybe that is why they dropped them as a factory option.
Here's the breakdown:
1998: 1,425 cars had them at a cost of $3,000.
1999: 2.029 cars had them at a cost of $3,000.
2000: 2,652 cars with a price of $2,000.
2001: 1,022 cars, option cost $2,000.
2002: Only 114 cars had this $1,500 option! (the rarest option that year).
2003: Only 293 cars had the mag wheel option at a cost of $1,500.
2004: GM dropped the price to $995, but I don't have the final number of cars that had this option.
The mag wheel size was the same as stock wheel, depending on the different model years. For example, the '99 Vette came with 17x8.5" front & 18"x 9.5" rear wheels.

I remember reading an original window sticker recently on an anniversary C5. The wheel option was called "lightweight magnesium wheels" or something to that effect and was an additional cost.
I hope they didnt just paint them and charge people $1k+ for it and call it magnesium! lol

It may have been added to it ( of course all 03s had the anniversary emblem but the anniversary car was the maroon I posted above.) What it boils down to is if the spokes are flush with the lip and don't dip in some like the magnesium wheels posted above then they are regular y2k wheels.

Looks like anniversary editions got bronze wheels while the real magnesium wheels were an option for all C5 years.
