NT05R hooks better but does not last as long. The 555R will hook better than a street tire but won't hook as good as the NT05R. It will last longer than the NT05R (about 10k miles) and it's better in in the rain.
Do you want to hook well or have a less sticky tire that last longer and is better in the rain.

I wouldn't even look at 555's. NT05 is a pretty good tire but it all depends what you want to do and what you expect from a tire. In my opinion Toyo builds a better tire and they are affordable as well.

555r's suck in the rain! Just my two scents.
But I guess the real question is, do you want to run DR's on the street? If that's your end goal there are waaaaaay cheaper DR's and more reliable DR's.

555r's are excellent for the street but does give up a little for traction if you dont get carried away with it. Really good mileage too and they sure as heck beat street tires. I have been able to keep mine on for near 4,000 miles, so no complaints from here.
