Default 315/35/17 tire help!

i bought a 94 z28 its got some mods done to motor work and all was a full nitrous car.

the guy put a rear end from a 02 ss and i went to look to see bout getting the 17x11 because the deep dish look.

I have no bump stop the took it off and smashed the bracket in a little

do i need tht???

with the bump stop being like tht what else would i have to do for those big tires to work

I would keep the bump stops if possible. Some guys saw them off and bang on the inside of the wheel well to make clearance for wider rims/tires. Might want to also consider rolling the fenders a bit.

whts the purpose of the bump stops

i like the wide look but dont want to cause more damage than its worth

Its there in case of an event where the suspension fully compresses so the axle does not slam onto the metal frame part of the car instead into the rubber part of the stop. My old lt1 didn't have them and a couple times i hit some pretty bad dips at like 60 ant the axle slammed into the chassis it didnt cause any damage but it sounded ugly.

They usually get hard and fall apart and deteriorate on the 4th gens anyway (they are made out of NERF style foam it seems lol). Lots of guys run without them. Ive been running 315's for 3 1/2 years and have never maxed out the suspension. As long as your shocks/springs are in good shape, it shouldn't really be an issue. Many people on here just eliminate them.

they are handy to have, you'd be surprised how much they get used. I had mine slimmed down so they were flush with the inner fender. You could also get some koni bump stops and run them on the shock shafts.
