Default Hydro-dipped FM10s.... opinions?

Well I've put off getting my fikses powdercoated for a while but i have the opportunity to get my centers done for about 20 bucks each. I was thinking a dark black carbon fiber pattern or one with some dark red weaved in. And either a gloss, satin or polished lip. The car is a satin black trans am. Any opinions on how it would look? Ricerish? I really do not want to do fully polished because it would look out of place on my car so don't say im ruining the wheels...

Whatever you decide to do to the centers, I'd leave the lip polished.

its up to you man,but imo fikse are perfect the way they are, and i would stay away from cf unless you have some cf stuff done to your car, its up to you though i always like to see something new done, the question i have is with the hydro dip is there anyway to remove it if you want to?

I have to do something with the centers, the clear coat is peeling off. The hydrocoating is about 80 bucks for all the wheels (centers only) and powdercoating was 400 (satin centers, gloss lip). I think the hydrocoating is pretty durable since they put a clearcoat over it when they are done but Idk how you would remove it.

I think satin centers to match your ride with a polished lip would be sweet too bro! Actually, I think that would be really sweet!

this is how the car stands right now...

Polished lip (same wheels)

and a peek at the fm10s in current form..

and some examples of what i wanna do..

i was thinking like a dark black carbon (they said they had to spray a silver basecoat so i was thinking maybe a black base coat would make it darker) or one with a deep red inlay since ive got the red and black theme going on with the rest of the car

I like black rims but i think they also make alot of rims look the same.I would rock those things until the finish messed up then have them coated.

the finish is already messed up and i have the wheels completely torn apart and ready to get done. i just have to decide what i wanna do. i dont want to have to tear them all down again, plus i wouldnt have any other wheels to use while they were getting done so im going to get it done before i sell my current ruffs haha

The dip is cool I have it on my fuel rail covers. My concern is the wheels are far too nice to put what looks like such a fake carbon fiber in them. Have you consideed other options like plasti-dip and paint or even 3M carbon film with an exacto knife (would look much better). And both can be removed when your done with wanting the look.

Plastidip looks like **** after about 3 months (its on my wheels now and in the first picture of my car) and the 3m film would be way to hard to do on the wheels.

$80 for all 4 isn't bad, do they do the prep work? Like remove the old clear sand and what not?

As long as it's durable enough to withstand daily rigors than I say go for it

The FM10's we got for my girls black ta were doing the same thing. All the clear coat was flaking off. I had the centers stripped and powdercoated for $100. If you got quoted 400 your getting ripped off. We chose the color black chrome and its just a shade darker than the gray used on like mustang GT bullit wheels. It looks really good
