Default Nitto 555R feedback

I got this set of tires about a week ago. I've never tried the Nittos out but I have been thoroughly impressed with these tires. Traction is great, I performed quite a few pulls from a dead stop, then from 10mph, then from 25mph. Barely any spin if any from a dead stop with slight feathering. No spin whatsoever from rolling. Yesterday, there was quite a dowpour throughout the day so I figured I do a little testing. Around town 35-45 mph there were no issues with the roads completely soaked. I then took it on the interstate with a moderate rain persisting. Again, I was a little bit nervous but held it at 65 mph with soaked roads with some semi deep puddles. Again, no issues. No back end wiggle. After the roads were completely dry the following day, I took it on some really twisty back roads to see how they handled. They are mounted on a c5z06 but I was surprised with the handling. I didn't push them to the limits I would have on a good set of streets, but they did well to what I put them through.
Overall, I'm really impressed with these tires to have drag compound. Of course these won't be everyones cup of tea since they don't hook up like Mickey Thompsons. I figured I'd leave a little feedback for future reference. I'll def buy these again when they wear. Looking to get around 12k street/highway miles.

I have had 3a sets of 555r and I love them unlike most drag radials if you get caught in some rain it's not that big a deal

I had those in a 245/50/16. With the 2.73 gears they would hook up at the track maybe half the time; when I put 3.42s in there they would never dead hook. This was with a stock converter. I would drop the pressure down to 20-25 and smoked them pretty good (I have a line lock) but they still didn't do as well as I had hoped.
One night at the track we got hit with a downpour and I had to drive out of there with the Nittos. I drove at highway speeds through almost standing water with no issues.

Its possible if you dont mind driving around on bald tires. Mine were showing chords around 9-10k. They like to wear the center so dont go over 30 psi.

I just switched from m/t's to the 555r's on my 2002 for the street. I dont know if they have changed compounds or what but I can hook in 1st gear on 800+rwhp.

I got 20K out of mine, gentle street driving and the occasional street run. 315/30 on 17x11.

Well I guess if you dont do burnouts. They really arent too bad of a DR, they hook decent & you can get a lot more miles out of em than MTs.

Exactly. Nittos are really good for the street when they're new. Great in the wet, too. But when they wear down to the hard rubber at about 50%, then they hook poorly and are lousy in the wet.

I just put on a new pair last month (my second set) and I'm loving them.

Track = MT's.

No stopped burnouts, I usually just dump it and back up over the marks, hooks a little better but I can't tell the difference from a roast unless its prepped.
