Need wheel + tire help! Experiencing rubbing!
Picked up some GM Y2K speedlines (17x8.5 front, 18x9.5 rear)the other day and mounted them. Fronts are fine, noticed rubbing on the inner fender for the rears.
Adjustable panhard bar is on the way since the car was lowered on Eibach Pro-kit, but I'm afraid that won't fix the rubbing since it is rubbing on both sides.
Tires are M/T Sportsman SRs, 26x12x18. I put a 5/16th universal spacer on but that only left me with ~5 full turns of the lug nuts. I put the spacer between the rotor and the tire (that's the right spot, yes?) and there was slightly more then half an inch of thread. I don't know how safe this is. Is there some other solution to this? I'm no tire expert..

So I just took the wheels off and bolted on my old ones for now until I fix the problem. Is there a good spacer to get that is safe to run? I've found some at http://motorsport-tech.com that are hub and wheel centric...is that right? What offset is ideal to run with the speedlines?

Here is the rubbing. I think I only need a few mm, but if I'm going to space I might as well try to get them relatively flush with the outer fender without rubbing the fender itself.
Would a 15mm or 20mm spacer be better? I've found some of both that are hub and wheel centric, but at $50 a pop I'd rather not spend money and find that it still cannot fit.

Ok so it looks like the offset on my wheels is 65 mm. So running a 20mm spacer would put it at 45mm offset, yes? Which would work just fine for a Trans Am.
I think. If someone could confirm that'd be great, I really don't want to spend $100 on a quality set of spacers to still not have them work.
