Default Anyone fitting a 30" slick/DR under a F-body???

I have seen it on a bunch of stock eliminator cars. Just wonder what it all takes.... I know the rear end needs to be moved back around 2 inches and the rear bumber needs to be modified.

I did a search and did not find what I was looking for.

If there is any links, please post them up

Thanks

I have a 28" with a little room. I am 2" lowered with now spring rubber boots. I bet if you were stock height you probably could.

personally, the only way to make this look really good would to have a pro stock look to the car with a tubbed rear and a narrowed rear. just an opinion. if the back sat high like the style in the old days, i personally don't think it would look good...

The stock eliminator guys are running 29.5x9 slicks. Don't look like a major mini tube but the tires do tuck real nice in the fender wells. I will see if I can post some pictures.

my apologies, i didn't mean a serious tub job, I meant tucking the tire in there instead of having it fill out the wheel well. this is extremely over exaggerated and I'm pretty sure it's a 33 inch tire but this to me looks sweet

http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl...t:429,r:14,s:0

again super over exaggerated, but it looks a lot better then this

http://www.google.com/imgres?start=1...t:429,r:9,s:15

I'm just not a fan of the old school rake where the back end sits way up high. I feel when the car sits level and lower, it looks great and then here is an f-body "drag" car with the tire tucked away

http://www.google.com/imgres?num=10&...t:429,r:12,s:0

all of these cars i'm sure are running a 30"+ tire, but i'm just trying to get my point across. the car in ur sig sits awesome and if you can fit a 30 inch tire in there without getting the raked look, it would look really cool in my opinion

I was just thinking I will have a little more sidewall, longer roll on the tire and I can keep running my steeper rear end gears..

I am happy with the look and stance I just wanted to see if anyone has done it and happen to have picture of what they did to get them to fit.

Back from the dead.

I put in mini tubs, cut 3" off each side of the 9" rear end, moved the lower control arm brackets in to just clear the wheels/tires, trimmed the front of the wheel well, moved the rear axle forward about an inch, installed 29.5x10.5x15's on a set of 12 wide rims. I am using a TRZ rear swaybar. coil over shocks, cut an inch out of my driveshaft. The lower control arms have to be aftermarket and pre positioned closer to the center of the car. I have some pics of the build if you are still interested in seeing them.

I will be running 315x15 MT drag radials on 10" wheels when on the street.

It is not finished. This has been a two year project building this car. It looks like I should be finished and ready for next years season.

Here are a few pics.

And with a spool in the rear you can see why I would really like to have a wider tire then a skinny up front to help me turn in to the local drive in.
