Default Tire sidewall bulge

Hey guys,

The rear drivers side tire on my '01 SS has a bit of a bulge in it. It bulges out by about 1/8th of an inch and I included a picture of it. As you can probably see, there's a bit of a grind mark on the rim right beside the bulge which might be what caused it(I'm innocent I swear!). I'm not going to be able to get new tires for the rear til probably next week sometime, would it still be safe to drive on until I can get new rubber?

I picked up the car in Fort Mac and drove it all the way back home (800km) on those tires, and actually did some pretty massive screwing around in town on those tires before looking at them and seeing the bump. Will they be ok to drive on for a week or so as long as I'm not doing massive burnouts and driving like a maniac? or do I have to go back to driving my boring truck?

It's a huge gamble driving on a tire like that.

Yeah, thats going to pop, take out your quarter and rear bumper cover, when you're in the middle of nowhere and your cell phone just went dead. Id cruise on the spare before Id drive on that tire

Agree that it is the result of impact into a curb or some other object laying on the road. It'll definitely go with little warning and will do body damage as the tire wall peels away. At least spend $25 from a uses tire shop.

Definitely don't like the sound of that one. I already have it at work with me today as I have an appointment to get an exhaust leak looked at, but I guess after that I'll take her home and leave her parked until I can get my new rubber.

You shouldn't be driving AT ALL with it still on the car. Put your spare on. Preferably up front and move a good front to the rear. Unless you have staggered wheels/tires.

Wash it,that oughta fix it..if that don't work fill it up with concrete=no more blown tires! on a more serious note,I wouldn't drive it like that!

Tire is coming apart. Air is seaping into the body plies. If you break the tire down you will probably see a cut in the inner liner. AKA impact break. Shoulder damage like that is common in UHP tires.

Well the Camaro is parked until my new rubber gets in and I can have it put on, which I'll slowly limp to the tire shop for. Until then I'm stuck driving my truck, and dear god is it boring compared to the Camaro!

Oh and as far as the wash goes, I had JUST washed it. The weather where I am is the pits right now, and that's actually what the car picked up driving less than a mile home from the carwash.
