tire sizes for 18x8 and 18x9 rims?

Default tire sizes for 18x8 and 18x9 rims?
I just ordered some 18x8 and 18x9 wheels for my '02 Trans Am and was just wondering what range of tire sizes would fit on them? i was hoping to get as wide as i could for the rear since these arent as wide as the stock rims

245/40/18s for the 18 x 8's, and 275/35/18 for the 18 x 9's .
You can go with a 285/35/18's on the 18 x 9's but that's not within the recommended wheel width for a 285/35/18; a 9.5" is.
