Which nitto tire? No street tire will hook good at the track... a DR on the other hand is alright. Not the best, but the 555R is what I run... I just broke my rear end last week with it... lol

I have 245/60/16 Nitto 555Rs and sometimes I can't get them to hook up at the track. I have a line lock and I heat them up pretty well. I have 2.73 gears and a stock converter.
Udienow, I'm assuming that you must have a 6-speed to break the rear with those tires, right?

Actually I spun... I bearly did a burn out though. It was the first run I was just trying to get a feel for the car, it was supposed to be a practice run to see where to go... car still made it down the track but was clunking bad at low speeds on the backroad! Here is the vid of that run... you can kinda see the car move when I break something in the rear like 15 feet into the run... idk why I still did that run i knew i broke something...

We still need to know which nitto tire you are talking about. Nittos are considered to be one of the less sticky DR's. You really have to heat them up to get them good, but they also are rated for the longest life... this is why I run these, as I DD my DR. Again the tire I have is the Nitto 555R 315/35/17.

The NT05r hooks better, but neither do well on a track that has not been well prepped.

My car has 3.42 gears... as do all sticks. 2.73 is only an auto gear stock.

As far the the tire you are asking about. Just like the poster said above, the nitto 555r or the nt05 is only an alright DR... you really have to heat them up and the track prep needs to be good. I only run them because they are still better then any street tire and I can run daily for a good 10-15k miles.
