Default Bent Weld Rt-s Rear wheel.... pissed

So.. Some of yall already know about my bent rear 15X10 wheel I got from a certain company. Sent this company an email. I also sent weld an email. Only got 1 reply and that was earlier this week. Still waiting to hear something from Weld. Pretty disappointed. Told them my situation with the car being state side and myself being overseas and that I couldn't ship the rim back at this moment (weld co) still nothing. Just wanted to put it out there to people who were thinking about ordering from Jims Racing. Great guys at the start but now Im left waiting for responses and a solution to this problem, might got bent during shipping who knows. still not the point, its principle.

Because it came from an outside vendor (Jim's Racing Tires) you can't really be pissed at Weld for not responding yet. Is there more to this story? Was the rim bent in a perfectly good box? Was the box damaged? Is the shipping company at fault? Jim's Racing Tires would have to handle the claim, not Weld. That would be like me ordering a cam from Texas Speed and having a broken lobe and calling Comp Cams bitching wanting it replaced. Jim's Racing Tires and Weld Racing LLC are both stand up businesses and I'm sure you will be taken care of. Perhaps try giving them a phone call, and please keep us updated. Thanks.

I'm gonna assume that since you're outside of the U.S., calling isn't a feasible option? Good luck getting everything worked out.

I got mine from through a company that ordered them from weld. The ticket was billed to that business but shipped directly from weld. Don't know if yours were or not but it may be something to check into. If they went to that place from weld then to you you might be able to find out what or were it happened.

Ive ordered a couple sets from Jim in the past that shipped from his place. I just ordered a set this week and he said those would be coming directly from Weld. Were they drop shipped from Weld or did Jim ship them?

What have you been told so far?

all I was told from jims racing was that it might of have been from shipping. that was all. and yeah your right. I shouldnt be mad at weld, But they havent even responded to my email. All the boxes were in perfect shape. And yes calling them would be an issue. Ill have someone at home I guess make a phone call for me.

I've seen bent wheels on cars and that is from a 3500lb car whacking a sharp curb edge or something. I can't imagine how shipping could duplicate a force strong enough to bend a wheel.

You never mounted a tire on the wheel?

If you paid with a credit card call the company And dispute the charge. You need to find out who shipped them that's who you need to be calling.

Its not a bent lip. its just the rim itself as a whole. They couldnt balance it. and yes the tires were mounted. So its just a waiting game as of now

Maybe the guy who mounted the tire clamped the wheel to hard on the tire machine and bent the wheel.

i can almost 100% promise you it's the tire, not the wheel. Those wheels are checked for runout before they leave the factory. My 15x10 rear alone balanced out at 0, when I put my 295/55/15 on it, it took 13.7 ounces on one side, and 4 ounces on the other. That's over a pound of weight just one one wheel. Your friend that tried to balance it needs to dismount the tire and try to just balance the wheel... it could save you a lot of time and frustation, and save great companies like Jim's Racing Tires and Weld Racing from being falsely accused

I had a similar issue with some BS Streetlites not too long ago. I had them sent directly from Jegs to my powdercoater and when I got them here and had tires mounted one of them didn't balance out at all - similar to the weights that ec_nova found with his. More than likely it's the tire to blame. Use a few sticky weights and it'll be fine...esp if it's a mainly track type wheel setup
