Question Should I even bother with prostars?

Friend of mine has some prostars on a lt1 firebird that he is selling, we talked about trading my stock z28 chrome fivespokes for his prostars since he is getting rid of the car anyway. I've only gotten a look at them a time or two but if I recall he had 295s on theback with a spacer at one point, so my guess is a 15x10 in rear. I looked the other night and he's currently got 235/70 on the back and they look stretched.. Idk exact specs on the wheels until Monday. Fronts have a 215 ATM. I kinda wanna snag them cuz I'd like to have some wheels for the track instead of my 17x11 zr1s. Should I go a head and grab them? What will I have to do to make them fit..studs? What size spacer? I'll have more info this week.. Just figured I'd thibk out loud

I may go measure them to find out the sizes but if i can't then i'll find out tomorrow. i do believe the fronts may be 15x6-7s cuz of the 215.. will those clear with a 5/16" spacer? possibly 2.5" arp studs? Still thinking the backs are 15x10s cuz i've seen a 295 on the rear at one point. so 2.5" arp studs and what size spacer? again these are guesses i will know the sizes tomorrow ... need help. do not want to let this deal slide if i can get them to work

Both those front and rear tires are going to be useless for the track, so you're in for a set of new rubbers all around. If the rears are 15x10s you will need to do a fair amount of work to get them to clear the OEM brakes. If they're 15x8 which they probably are, they will still require grinding, but not as much. I've never seen anyone fit a wheel over 4.5" wide on the front of a LS1 car in a 15" diameter, so I don't know what size fronts he is using with those tires.

Went by after work just to look again and the backs are 15x8s. Fronts looked to be 6s. Even with a spacer the 6 inch wouldn't work?

I will double check the fronts tomorrow but I'm almost positive they are 6s. I won't be making the trade. Thabks for the replies guys, glad I got this site before I make dumb decisions
