Default Bigger Wheels & Lowering Fitment

So I am looking into getting some 18" American Racing Torq Thrust M's for my 02 Camaro. After I purchase them I want to also lower the car. I was wondering what you guys would recommend for wheel width and tire sizes as well. I'd like to keep the front and rear the same sizes so I can rotate them. I have a couple extra sets of wheels if needed to get a drag radial for them. So I'm looking for tires that will also LAST me but perform well too. So...

1. What width of a wheel would I need to fit a 295 tire for the front and rear?
2. Tire recommendations?
3. If I lower it will I have fitment issues? Also what should type of suspension setup would be suggested if I daily drive it (stiffness or ride comfort doesn't bother me, I actually like a stiff ride) & would like to be able to take turns really well but also be able to launch more without spinning.
4. I feel like there is something else but I can't remember so I'll think hard now

10" wide wheels will probably be the best for the tire size you'd like to use.

I'm in the same boat, except I'm not going with same size all around. I've got some 18*9.5 in front and 18*10.5 out back and going with KDW's 2's...275 in front, 295 out back...I will be ordering tires this week ans also will want to lower the car. I've been looking at Strano's and BMR spring set ups.

I mean I don't want to run anything like a 315 up front. I'd like to run 295 in the front and the rear. Would I be able to lower it 1.25 inches without any fitment issues on an 18x10 rim?

You can lower it 2"+ with a 11" wide wheel if the offset is correct

Stick with an offset around 38mm and you'll be fine.

They make them in 18's? I thought they were only in 17" diameters?

Nope I saw them 17, 18 and 20. At least thats what I saw on Jegs. Also called my friend who works for discount tire and he said the same thing that they do offer an 18 inch rim. So I'm looking for 295's. What should my profile be? 35?

They do have 'em in 18x10... for Mustangs

Ive searched every wheel site I can find and besides a custom order, the only 18" they make with our bolt pattern is 9" wide with a 34mm offset

i got american racing 17s and lowered my car 2 inches. I put 315s on the back and it is carving them everytime i accellerate and turn. I also feel like when i try to launch that i am bouncing off the tires and slowing me down. I know the tires are too wide, wish i could get 305s but there don't seem to be any. I used Strano billsteins and an adjustable panhard. I love the look, but i hate that bouncing/slowing feeling that it has given the car. Of course i hate carving up those expensive nittos too, but it was a lesson...anyone done this lowering have the same feeling? I just wanted to put it out there when someone says they are lowering the car. It was more fun to drive before the lowering in my case...
