Default toyo proxy tq good on the street w/ 500hp?

I need a 315/30/18 or 315/35/18 on the rear of my ws6. Its a street only car.

toyo tq are cheap, I just cannot find any real feed back on them...
If I need to go mt, i will. some real advise would be great.

For that size, I'd say go with TOYO R888 if mileage isn't a concern or I've heard guys had good luck with Nitto Invo's.

r888s are a good tire. more of a road course tire, but its rally sticky. the nitto invos arent bad, dont have any personal experience with them, but they are a street tire for what its worth. maybe try r888s, nt05rs or the toyo tq.

Look my name up I broke down the tires is thread like this. Great street tire better then nittos in every field and better then the Mickey Thompson in every field but hooking. Went from a 1.71 60ft which was the best with toyo to a 1.65 all day with my m/t. Worst 60ft with the Mickey was a 1.67. Hope that helps.

I run the 285/19 vette wheels wraped with Toyo t1r tires...and i will saw they are the best tire i have ever owned. Wet,dry, track. Quarter or slolam racing. Cant go wrong...awesome rubber.

I run the R888's in a 335 series on mine and they are very sticky for the street. Since it's a road coarse tire they have stiff sidewalls so cornering ability is awesome unlike a DR.

Try these. I ordered them for my street tires.

Your not going to hook on the street period. My car will spin a true slick on the street. I'm running Nittos NT-05 R's and they spin unless I walk it out.

I've been running 315/35/18 Toyo Proxes TQ tires for almost 2 years straight daily driven now. GREAT tire, hooks amazing, and the streetability and mileage is still great.

Go to google and type in "Toyo TQ Forum." It'll pull up lots of reviews from other forums. Lots of Corvette and Cobra owners running them and hooking well.

My r888's are a daily driver. NOw that I have 18,000 miles on them I can spin at will & are slippery in the rain. However, for the first 15,000 ( how can you ask for more with his type tire) they hooked like they had talons and handled well.
I'm looking for a new set as we speak & wouldn't change a thing.
It doesn't hurt that they look wicked also.
