Default Best tire for the money?

It looks like I might have to drive my 98 ss around for a little bit in the winter and need new tires. I was wondering what the best all season tire was for the money with it still looking good on my c5 rims and not looking like a grandma's tire on there. Thanks!

Michelin A/S Sport Plus is a great all season tire. I have driven in half a foot of snow with these in Formula so they work pretty good in the snow for what they are.

Nittos are decent for the price. BFG KDW2 is another good one from what I've heard.

For snow?
Snow tires are the first choice for what you need. Barring that, get Continental ExtremeContact DWS.

Driving in snow on anything other than a snow tire is going to be hairy. I drove in a few inches of snow on 245 all seasons and it did not want to go up even the slightest incline. On level ground it's okay if you go super slow, but if you go anywhere near the gas pedal the rear tires spin.

If you have to drive in snow much at all, get a set of stock wheels with winter tires, and get a set of Nittos for the rest of the year.
