Default Wide 11 or 12 inch wheels on the back? lol

Hey there guys, I have a quick question for you, I have seen a couple of T/A and Camaros running 11 inch wide wheels on the back, in order to install that size of wheel I would have to hammer or at least modify my fender right? not for drag slicks tires but with street radials

Have some of guys even seen or read about putting some 12 inch wide wheels on the back? I apologize for the dumb questions but im just curious to know if that such wide wheel could fit and if it would need a spacer to make them fit on any T/A

Lots of people put 11" wide wheels with 315 width tires on the rears with some work - rolling the fender lips and some, if any, hammering to the inner fender. The offset of the wheel is what's most important - 45-50mm is preferred

search for putting the 12" Corvette wheels in the rear - some have had no issues, some couldnt make them fit

stick with 11" in the rear - more tire choices and less work to make them fit

I have 12 inch rims on my camaro. it took a lot of work to get them to fit without rubbing, a lot of test fitting.

Man that must suck, what did you exactly do to make them fit on there?

i have 315 nittos on 11 wide wheel. No mods necessary just bolted on and off I went. No rubbing to date. I do have PHB to center the rear so maybe that helped.

Make the choice on what size wheels ya want, its not much work to fit 18x10.5s,11, mainly its going to depend on your suspension set up,315s on 17x11s is for sure the way to go but that leaves ya with tt2s or zr1s,

it also depends on what brand tire you run to, nittos run narrower then other tires.

we had to roll the fenders, hammer certain spots in the wheel well and cut the bump stops in half.

I am running the 17X11 AR Torq Thrust M wheels out back and they don't rub one bit. Even with the car lowered 1" it hasn't been a problem. I tried running an 18 inch C5 Corvette wheel at one time and it rubbed every time i went over a bump. I don't know the exact specs on any of these wheels, sorry.

I think the issue is with 18" on up. With the larger diameter you will have some rubbing issues if your car is lowered and you want to go that deep of a wheel. I even tried fitting a 19" C6 wheel but had to add a wheel adapter to make it fit without rubbing. Happy motoring my friend!

Quick Reply: Wide 11 or 12 inch wheels on the back? lol
