Default Help with figuring out correct spacer/adapter width

I'm having my stock WS6 wheels widened in the rear and need to throw a hubcentric adapter on there to push the tires out a bit. I'm trying to figure out how wide of an adapter I need to get my WS6 wheels to stick out exactly how my drag wheels did which were flush with the fender. I have no idea how to do offset calculations so here are both wheel specs:

Stock WS6 wheel = 17x9 with 50mm or 7" backspace
Drag Wheels = 15x8 with 4.5" backspace

Thanks!

How wide are you going on your wheels? My 00 WS.6 wheels are 11" wide, and I run a 1" adapter to push them out enough to clear everything. I did BFH the inner fenders to make sure I had plenty of room too.

I'm thinking 10.5" wide so I may not have to BFH it but I'm still undecided between that and 11". Basically I'm stuck between running a 1" or 1.25" adapter for look purposes. By the way your pics have been very helpful, I've been doing a lot of searching through threads.

I'll crunch the numbers tomorrow if someone else hasn't, but some food for thought in the meantime.

An OEM C5 Z06 wheel is 18x10.5 ET 58 (giving an 8.1" backspacing).

Edit:

If you want your WS6 wheels to fit the same in terms of flushness, run a 1.5" spacer. The width that your wheel is widened will not change this.

If this is the look you like, I would go 17x11, since a wheel with that much backspacing should be nowhere near your inner fender.

A WS6 wheel, widened to 11" (with a 1.5" spacer) will effectively become a 17x11 ET 38, 7.5" BS.

I went with 10.5 on my 10 spokes no mods except rollin the lip and used a 5/8 spacer, could of went 3/4 and still clear the lip no problem. I machined the spacer hub centric and made a jig to center the spacer on the inside of wheel and then tig welded it in place before I powder coated the wheels.

All went to 17x11 and all used 1"

Assuming the 2" are added to the inside of the mounting surface, it will add 2" of backspacing. You said the wheels are currently 7"BS. Stock 4th gens can handle 8" BS but not 9". So a 1" adapter/spacer will make it so there is room inside. It will also push the wheel out 1" toward the fenderlip from stock.

All this figuring and all it takes is a measuring tape. While the wheel and tire is on the car, measure the distance from the front face of the tire to where you would like them to be in relation to your fender lip and then buy an adapter the size that you measured.

I wouldn't go any wider than a 1.25" hub spacers, but a 30mm(1.18") would be slightly better with fender lip clearance.

Here's a couple shots to show where mine sits with a 1" spacer. I was trying to best picture how they sit under the fender, and Im really happy with where they are. Some of the pics I posted before made them look like they stick out, but they are tucked nicely.

And still one of my favorite shots:
