Time to replace my tires, but honestly the Eagle F1s are pretty pricey to get again. What tires have you guys used that give decent year-round performance that won't cost an arm and a leg and last more than 20,000 miles?

they come with basically new 275 fronts and 315 tires on them

I always use 285/35/18 for the back on my ws6 but I found some eagle 1 285/40/18 for $99 so I'm trying them!! Online tire.

They are 'pricey' for a reason. Sure you can save $100 per tire for something else but it will not be the same, especially at the 50% tread life mark when all the 'issues' start appearing, from noise to tramlining. Ask yourself if the $400 savings for another brand is worth it. I say NO and that's from many experiences ranging from myself to area car club members. You get what you pay for when it comes to tires. Goodyear never disappoints. I just spent $900 for a simple 18" Eagle GT set for my Mustang. Not F1 performance but still excellent tires and worth every penny!!

Your point is well taken and I would be in complete agreement with it IF I could find a set of F1s that were only $100 more per tire than most others. However, from the places I've looked like tirerack.com and discounttiredirect.com com, the F1s are closer to $200 more per tire than comparable Nitto, BFG, etc..

While I could justify paying $250 or so per tire for an F1, I cannot and do not think that paying $330+ per tire I would be getting double the tire for double the price, hence my search for the next best thing.

I have Korean Nexen N3000 tires and absolutely love them.

Honestly your going to find good and bad on everything.

I had Falken RT615's previously, the Nexen tires are just as good IMO.

No problem. I didn't know you were running such a large tire. The bigger the tire, the bigger the price spread apparently.

I have to comment, the eagle F1 GS that came on these cars is pretty mediocre for performance compared to what else is out there now, and the only real upside I've seen from those is they last a while.
But for me once they started to wear they were pretty useless for any kind of performance traction, it was like driving in the rain.
The NT05s I have on now are a significant increase in grip and traction, with no real down sides I've seen yet (and they are significantly cheaper). They tread wear is lower so I dont expect them to last as long, but they are so much cheaper and grip so well its a not a big deal.

The original tires were Goodyear GS-C and decent. The Goodyear GS-D3 is what I am talking about and they are light years ahead of the originals. Not even close. You are talking apples and oranges.

I don't think the Eagle F1 tires are very good at all and definitely not worth the money. I bought my car brand new and it came with them. Traction was not good at all. I quickly swapped wheels and tires to BFG KDW tires and they hooked much better on the street. I got over 40K miles out of the KDW. Great tire in my opinion. That was the old tread KDW though, don't know about the KDW2 funky tread.

Those were the GS-C as I stated above. You can't even buy them anymore. The F1 GS-D3 are quite different and MUCH better. You guys keep knocking the GS-D3 and you haven't even owned them. I know they are expensive but knocking them because you can't afford them is not a worthy review. If I thought the GS-D3 were like the GS-C I would say so. This GS-D3 on my T/A is the best tire I have ever owned, both in the wet and for handling. 14,000 miles on them and about 50% tread is left.

What size NT05's do you run, and on what size rim? I have been looking at these for my next tires and hear mostly good things about them, other than they run skinny like all Nittos, and aren't great in the rain. How long have you had them also?
