Default 11x17 TT2 w/315-35 test fitting

I have been in the garage doing some test fitting on my WS6. Oh baby, I may need to be called Dr. by the time these puppies fit. It looks like I'm going to need about 1/4" less bump stop width and apply some stone axe engineering to the front of the inner fender wells. I don't own a grinder, but I think I can ruff cut the bump flange and bumper rubber with a dremel and cutting wheels then smooth it out with sanding discs on a drill. I do have a 3lb sledge that will probably work for manufacturing clearance at the front of rear wells.

The fronts (9.5 w/275-40) fit the rear with room to spare. The lazy me is muttering "Just get 2 more the same size and be done with it".. and the not lazy me says, "yeah, but ya only have to do it once and they look so f'ing good back there". Decisions,, decisions. LOL

On a serious note, Where do you guys put stands under there without tweeking something? Yes, this is the first time I've had this car off the ground. The best place I see is inboard of where the jack point is and the jack is in the way of using the stand right next to it. Unibodys make me nervous about twisting/bending something. Coffee break over, back out to the cold garage.

Here a good tip. When you're putting on the rears, jack the rear of the car up by the pumpkin instead of leaving it drooping down while on jack stands. You may find you have a little more room to put the wheels on. My mt 315's wouldn't go on unless I jacked the car up that way.

The tt2/315 combo has been done countless times and you shouldn't run into too many issues, esp with the trans am having a teeny bit more room than a camaro.

The car doesn't look like its been lowered, black springs & stock shocks. I can't even get them bolted all the way on because the tire hits the bump stop. I could probably put the jack under the differential and raise it past the bump stop, but if it ever topped out they would hit.

The wheels have approximately 8" of BS and the tires are Nitto NT05s, 12.46" wide.

I never have had a problem with mine, like said above- jack it up from the diff. If you let it droop it sits up against the bumpstops. Same goes for future removing or take the car anywhere. It catches right on the lip and can scratch/chip the inside lip. My car is lowered and have 11.5" on the back.

Maybe I'll give that a try. I'm sure they will fit with the axle raised up to where the bump stop is below the tire and rim, basically inside the rim. I would really hate to have the suspension rebound and extend enough to cause the wheel or tire to hit the bump stop while in motion. Seems like that could get real ugly, real fast.

I have never hit my wheels on my wore out suspension(currently on the lift redoing it all). Eibach Pro Kit is on the way out as well as my shocks.

I have never rolled my fenders either.

Thought I had a pic from the rear how it sits and all.

The reason they hit the bump stops is because the rear is hanging. I had the same issue. I cut the bumpstops, but also you need to support the car by the axle, not the body. Mine only rubbed one after that, with 4 people and 200 lbs in luggage. adjustable panhard bar fixed that right up.

I took an angle grinder and modified the bumpstop. There's excess bumpstop you can cut off to make them fit.

I still need to BFH the fender wells. They rub some in tight turns, but not too bad. I had to cut quite a bit of the flange and bump stops and still had to raise the axle up to get the wheels on and then set it down the clear the stops. I can't take any more off and still have enough metal to support the bump stops. I looks good though and the tires are tucked in nicely.
